A Professor Rachid Yazami of Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NUS) has been developed a smart chip about the size of a fingernail and can significantly change the method we charge our devices. The chip is enough small to be embedded in most batteries. Dr Yazami expect that it will be integrated into the whole thing from Smartphone’s to electric cars and he intend to start off conference with Tesla concerning what the chip can do for the market leading cars brand.
Dr Yazami set up to market the chip has already held discussions with Sanyo, Sony and Samsung. Dr Yazami has claimed that the chip taken 5 years for developing.

Dr Yazami said that with the billions of lithium-ion batteries being produced per year, though the threat of a battery failing and catching fire is very low even a one in a million chance would indicate over a thousand failures.
